Obedience That Follows Salvation | October 30th, 2026

Reading:

Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Acts 2:38
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 6:3-5
3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection

Devotional

John called people not only to repentance but to action. The soldiers, tax collectors, and common people all asked the same question: what shall we do? That question reflects a heart that has genuinely been changed.

Salvation is received by faith alone, but faith never remains alone! Baptism is not a suggestion. It is an act of obedience that publicly declares what has happened inwardly. It is a picture of death, burial, and resurrection, identifying the believer with Christ's finished work on the cross. If you have trusted Christ but have not been baptized, let this be the week you take that next step of obedience.
