Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Galatians 4:4-5
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born  dof a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Luke 2:21-24
21 And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called JESUS, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.
22 Now when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the LORD”), 24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”

Mary and Joseph could not afford the lamb required by the law. Yet they brought the Lamb with them. Jesus, the Lamb of God, was present in their arms even as the law demanded a sacrifice they could not provide. This is the grace of God on full display. The wages of sin is death, and none of us can afford the payment. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. He does not demand what you cannot give. He gives what you could never earn. Receive the gift.
