The Peace That Christ Brings | October 15th, 2026

Reading:

Luke 2:13-14
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Romans 5:1
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Isaiah 9:6
    6 For unto us a Child is born,
    Unto us a Son is given;
    And the government will be upon His shoulder.
    And His name will be called
    Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Devotional

The heavenly host declared peace on earth, yet the world into which Jesus was born was filled with unrest, oppression, and anxiety. The Roman peace of that era was simply the absence of open war, not the presence of genuine peace. Jesus came to offer something far deeper. Through faith in him, we receive peace with God, the kind of peace that does not depend on favorable circumstances. The Prince of Peace does not promise a life without storms. He promises his presence within them. If your heart is restless today, turn it toward the one whose arrival angels celebrated with a song of peace.
