Even So, Come | August 14th, 2026

Reading:

Revelation 22:20-21
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

2 Peter 3:11-14
11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless

Devotional:

John closes the entire Bible with a prayer that is also a declaration: even so, come, Lord Jesus. It is a prayer born not from despair about the world but from deep confidence in the one who is coming to make all things new.

The early church greeted one another with Maranatha — our Lord cometh. That greeting was a reminder that every ordinary day was lived in the shadow of an extraordinary hope.

As you close this week, let that hope recalibrate your perspective. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is with you. He is coming. Live like it.

AMEN!
