The Urgency of His Coming and the Comfort of His Presence | August 6th, 2026

Reading:

Revelation 22:7
7 “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
Revelation 22:12
12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work
2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Devotional:

The word translated "quickly" carries the sense of something increasing in speed with precision and accuracy. His return is not delayed -- it is building. Every generation of believers has been called to live with the expectation that today could be the day. This urgency is not meant to produce anxiety but to sharpen focus.

Prophecy functions like a shepherd's rod and staff -- guiding your steps and comforting your heart. God's patience in holding back the final hour is itself an act of love, giving every wandering soul an interval of grace. Live ready. Live expectantly. Live in the comfort that He is coming.
