The Door Is Open | June 19th, 2026

Reading:

2 Peter 3:8-15
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you

Revelation 3:20
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Devotional:

Pastor Mark reminds us that God is patient, not willing that any should perish. The door of grace stands open now, but it won't remain open forever. There's coming a day when heaven opens not to invite but to reveal—when Christ returns not as Savior but as Judge. Today is the day of salvation. If you've been putting off surrendering to Christ, why wait? If you've drifted from your first love, why delay returning? The same Jesus who rode humbly on a donkey will return on a white horse. The same hands that were pierced will hold the scepter. Don't mistake His patience for absence or His mercy for permission. Respond today. Accept Him, recommit to Him, or restore what you've lost. The door is open—walk through it.

Challenge: If you have not accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior repent! Cry out to the Lord and He will hear you! Confess you are a sinner, you cannot save yourself and trust in Jesus' death, burial and resurrection! Romans 10:9-10 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

If you are a believer, pray for God to open a door for you to share your faith with someone in your life. Pray for a conversation to stir up, an opportunity to pray or the boldness to step out and share this amazing gospel message!
