Devotional:
God comforts us in our afflictions so that we can comfort others with the same comfort we have received. Your suffering is not only about you. There is someone on the other side of your storm who needs what God is producing in you right now. The disciples needed to cross through that storm because a broken man on the other side needed Jesus.
Your endurance through hardship gives you a language that no classroom can teach. It opens doors that comfort and ease never could. Do not give up halfway across the lake. There is someone waiting on the other side who needs you to make it through.
Reflection: Who in your life might be waiting on the other side of the storm you are currently enduring? How might your testimony of faithfulness through suffering be the very thing God uses to reach them?

In the midst of our unrelenting trials, or grief, we might ask ourselves, "How can God use this horrible situation/tragedy for good?" It seems impossible that there could be any good at all in something so abysmal to us. But God uses everything for good. We have to put our selfishness aside and remember that it may not be for our good. It might be for someone else, and God may have allowed us to endure our suffering so that we may help someone else, whether to encourage them, or to show them the light of Jesus for the first time. As Christians we know it's not always about us, but we also know that our making a difference in someone else's life brings joy to God, and therefore joy to us, which also brings blessing that are good. So no matter how bleak things look. God's plan always comes full circle.
