20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Revelation 21:27
27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

The most sobering and most glorious truth in the entire vision of the new Jerusalem is found in its final verse. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life will enter. No title, no achievement, no religious heritage, and no accumulated wealth will serve as a credential at that gate. Entry is granted solely on the basis of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ..This is not a truth meant to produce fear in the believer. It is meant to produce wonder. Your name, written not in ink but in blood, secured not by your effort but by his sacrifice. That is the foundation on which eternity rests, this should be the source of our joy now and into eternity!
