The Call to Repentance and Restoration | July 2nd, 2026

Reading:

1 John 1:5-10
5 This is the message which we have >>heard<< from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Psalm 51:10
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Devotional:

The title Devil is translated to accuser or slanderer..

The accuser wants you paralyzed by shame, holding onto unconfessed sin, believing you've gone too far and condemning you when you start to come back. But that's a lie. God already knows what you've done—He's waiting for you to come home. The cross not only saves us but reminds us that we can come and be honest about our sin because He has enough grace to forgive us!

Don't give the enemy ammunition by hiding in guilt. Come back to fellowship. The Father is running toward you with open arms, ready to restore the joy of your salvation. Jesus misses you. He misses those quiet morning conversations over coffee, those late-night prayers, that intimacy you once shared.

Where are you?

Challenge: This morning if you have been running and feeling unworthy, confess your need for forgiveness and begin to do the first works you once did. Did you used to read at a certain time? Wake up and meet Jesus there. Did you used to journal? Pick up that journal and start again. Did you used to listen to worship on the way to work? Turn it on and begin the sweetness of fellowship and don't let the Devil keep you away!
