No Defense Needed—Only Grace | July 15th, 2026

Reading:

Romans 3:21-26
21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Devotional:

The Great White Throne Judgment will be unlike any earthly courtroom. There will be a Judge, a Prosecutor, and a sentence—but no jury, no defense, and no appeal. Those who stand there will realize, "This is what I deserve. This is what I chose." But praise God, believers will never face this judgment because Jesus already faced judgment for us at Calvary!

The first of four biblical judgments occurred at the cross, where God judged our sin and placed the punishment on Christ. This is the gospel: we who deserved condemnation receive justification through faith. The Bema Seat awaits believers—not for salvation but for rewards based on faithful service. How does this truth affect your daily life? Live today with gratitude that you'll never stand condemned before God. Let this reality motivate you to serve Him faithfully, knowing your works will be evaluated not for punishment but for reward.
