Be Watchful Over Your Spiritual Life | 2026 Summer Series | Pastor Gregg Moffatt

This powerful message confronts us with a sobering reality: it's possible to look alive spiritually while being spiritually dead. Drawing from Revelation 3 and the church at Sardis, we're challenged to examine whether our Christian life has substance or is merely a performance. Sardis was a wealthy, active church with programs and community presence, yet Christ declared them dead because the Holy Spirit's power was absent. This ancient warning speaks directly to our modern context where churches and individuals can maintain religious routines while lacking genuine spiritual vitality. The message offers hope through five practical steps: wake up to our true condition, strengthen what remains of our faith, remember our first love for Christ, obey His commands rather than just acknowledging them, and genuinely repent by turning back to God. The most challenging aspect is the call to put Christ absolutely first, not just as one priority among many, but as the supreme authority in every area of life. We're reminded that God sees beyond our reputation to our character, beyond our activities to our hearts. The urgency is clear: Christ's return is imminent, and we won't know the hour. This isn't meant to frighten us but to awaken us to examine whether Jesus truly knows us or whether we're merely going through religious motions while our hearts remain distant.
