My Redeemer Lives | Luke 24:1-7 | Easter Sunday

Apr 5, 2026    Pastor Mark Ramirez

The resurrection of Jesus Christ stands as the bedrock truth of our Christian faith, and this message invites us to examine whether we've been seeking life in all the wrong places. Drawing from Luke 24, we encounter the women who came to Jesus' tomb only to be asked by angels a profound question: 'Why do you seek the living among the dead?' This question echoes through the centuries to us today. How many of us have been living among the dead—dead ways, dead religion, empty philosophies that offer no hope? The message challenges us to move from the graveyards of this world to the risen Christ who has overcome death itself. Through Job's ancient question, 'If a man dies, shall he live again?' we discover that even in the earliest scriptures, there was hope for resurrection and transformation. Job's declaration, 'I know that my Redeemer lives,' written thousands of years before Christ's resurrection, speaks to a confident faith that transcends circumstances. The resurrection isn't just a historical event to commemorate—it's the foundation of our living hope. Because Christ lives, we too will live. This truth means our guilt can be forgiven, our shame washed away, and our future secured. The question for each of us is simple yet profound: Do we believe this? Do we live like it's true?
