Come Lord Jesus | Revelation 22:12-21

What does it mean to live with genuine expectation that Christ is returning? In this powerful closing study of the book of Revelation, we are brought face to face with the final words of Scripture and what God most wants us to carry in our hearts as we navigate this world. The central message is both simple and staggering: Jesus is coming quickly, and that certainty is meant to reshape how we live every single day. We explore Revelation 22 alongside passages from Matthew 24, 1 Corinthians 3, and Isaiah 40, weaving together a picture of a God who not only fulfilled hundreds of prophecies at his first coming but who has promised with equal certainty that he will return. The study challenges us to examine our works not as a means of earning salvation, but as the natural fruit of genuine faith. Just as Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 3, our deeds will be tested like metal passing through fire, evaluated not for salvation but for reward. The question pressed upon us is not whether we attend church or know the right answers, but whether our lives reflect a heart that is truly watchful and ready. If we understand who is coming and what he has promised, the only fitting response is the one echoed by the early church in their daily greeting to one another: Maranatha, our Lord cometh.
